The City of Lafayette is seeking a Senior Project Manager who is enthusiastic, organized, customer service oriented, and above all, considers themselves a go-to problem solver.
Under the general direction of the Economic Development Director, the Senior Project Manager supports and manages key economic development initiatives, including the implementation of the city’s first Economic Development & Housing Strategic Plan, the potential formation of a new special district in Old Town, and business retention, expansion, and attraction.
The Economic Development is responsible for advancing the City’s community economic development initiatives related to people-based, place-based, and business-based strategies. This includes business retention/expansion/attraction, attracting unique and diverse development, investing in revitalization areas, workforce development, and enhancing the community’s quality of life. The Senior Project Manager works in close collaboration with local government personnel, City Council and Boards, and members of the business and development community.
The Senior Project Manager will also provide support for special districts, including the Lafayette Urban Renewal Authority (LURA). Established in 1999, LURA is the lead public entity that promotes the revitalization and redevelopment of Old Town Lafayette. The Executive Director works in partnership the City of Lafayette, private property owners, and businesses to remove blight, rehabilitate existing structures, attract new mixed-use development, and improve streetscapes to create an inviting and vibrant downtown. Current projects and key functions include public-private partnerships, managing the Old Town Lafayette marketing campaign, façade improvement grant program, site & architectural review, transition planning, and community outreach.
